Treatment terms and methods explained.
- Assessment is a private appointment with an addiction specialist that will take 1 to 2 hours. The assessment will assist in determining the client’s level of addiction and recommend treatment options.
- Walk-in Clinic is the opportunity to see a professional counselor and get an assessment without an appointment Monday – Friday mornings.
- Intervention is a facilitated team approach designed to motivate a loved one to accept help for an addiction problem they have otherwise resisted getting help for.
- Treatment Plan is a plan developed by the client and their counselor related to client goals and what steps the client will take in meeting them.
- Urinalysis Testing involves collection of urine samples that are sent to a laboratory and tested to determine substance use, as well as levels of use. Generally, we request urinalysis testing at the time of assessment to determine a baseline. Some referral sources, like DUII, require urinalysis to verify compliance; sometimes throughout treatment.
- Individual Session involves a private appointment with a professional counselor.
- Family Counseling Session involves a private appointment with a professional counselor and family members of a client and may include the client (or not) related to the client treatment plan.
- Group Counseling involves a confidential setting with other Addictions Recovery Center clients and a professional counselor; topics vary. Therapy groups are typically smaller that an education group.
- Education Group involves a confidential setting with other Addictions Recovery Center clients and a professional delivering education on various topics related to addition and recovery.
